PURE WESTIE

Pure Westie is a 51 min documentary discovering an eclectic creative community in Sydney's Western LGA of Penrith, 50km outside Sydney's CBD.
"Magnetic Creative Faces" was an experimental art project supported by Penrith City Councils Neighbourhood renewal program. This experimental community project was to discover creatives from all walks of life and skill levels living in the Penrith LGA. 
 
Directed by Loretta Farrell, 14 participants from diverse cultural backgrounds aged 17- 60 partly self-filmed their creative expressions during the most prolonged Sydney lockdown thus far and

two 1 in 100-year floods. 


The project evolved into a documentary that explores the themes:  

does where you live, influence or limit your creativity and is everybody creative.

Pure Westie Screener

Watcha Doin' Today is a short-form documentary series of inspiring intimate stories that captures a moment in time through the eyes of a diverse group of artists who self-filmed. 14 Australian Based Artist filmed March - June 2020, during the first lockdown in Australia 2020. Participants aged between 20-65 years old, are artists, musicians, writers, creative teachers and honesty and opening share their life during the first lockdown.
