Pure Westie is a 53 min documentary discovering an eclectic creative community in Sydney's Western LGA of Penrith, 50km outside Sydney's CBD. "Magnetic Creative Faces" was an experimental art project supported by Penrith City Councils Neighbourhood renewal program. This experimental community project was to discover creatives from all walks of life and skill levels living in the Penrith LGA.
Directed by Loretta Farrell, 14 participants from diverse cultural backgrounds aged 17- 60 partly self-filmed their creative expressions during the most prolonged Sydney lockdown thus far and two 1 in 100-year floods.
The project evolved into a documentary that explores the themes: does where you live, influence or limit your creativity and is everybody creative.
Financed with the assistance of Penrith City Council.
